What is GivingTuesday Ireland?
Charities Institute Ireland has officially launched GivingTuesday Ireland. The Giving Tuesday movement, which first began in the United States in 2012 has grown into a global movement.
GivingTuesday is a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. GivingTuesday Ireland will bring this movement to the Irish people – asking each individual on 30 November 2021 to think about how they can give back to their community.
How can I get involved in GivingTuesday?
There are countless ways to take part in GivingTuesday.
If you’re an individual: we’re asking you to give back to your community and to the causes that mean the most to you. This can be giving your time by volunteering, making a donation to your favourite charity, donating goods, or giving your voice to a cause. GivingTuesday is a day of generosity and your involvement can be as simple as helping out a neighbour, friend, or stranger. You can learn more about how to get involved at the official GivingTuesday Ireland website.
If you’re a charity: GivingTuesday is all about celebrating the amazing work you and other charities do, day in day out, year after year, to help those in need and to make life better. This is a fantastic opportunity to:
- Engage with current and new donors,
- Launch or shine a spotlight on your fundraising campaign,
- Raise awareness of your services,
- Celebrate your fantastic donors and volunteers, or
- Share stories from your beneficiaries demonstrating your impact.
